Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Costing Engineer to join the existing team in our Power & Industrial (P&I) Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for conduct cost analysis of the various IAQ product lines, maintaining the cost information in the financial and quoting systems, and performing analysis on cost data to recommend areas of focus in terms of cost improvement. The costing engineer will work closely with product managers, supply chain, product engineers, and application engineers to keep cost data up to date, develop the data to the proper granularity, and perform cost analysis of products to determine actions to improve.

Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct, review and maintain up-to-date cost databases for all IAQ products, including base and ancillary items, verifying financial and quoting tools are up to date. Report cost position for all IAQ product lines and performance against product line profitability standards.

• Support costing of equipment for all Americas region. This requires constant contact with Mexico and US teams, high level English capability, and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.

• Support, develop, and maintain information for the CPQ system, including helping to develop the system.

• Partner with sourcing, product, and engineering teams to lead cost and margin analysis, make versus buy evaluations, investigate cost drivers with new technology concepts, and design iterative processes for cost improvement within product development process.

• Help develop sourcing, manufacturing and assembly cost out processes and vendor negotiation approaches to apply across product lines.

• Work closely with and support sales, applications, product, engineering, sourcing and manufacturing teams with opportunity and project related costing and cost improvement efforts where needed.

• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned on an as-needed basis when there is availability. This could include, but is not limited to, engineering, design and sourcing support activities. Will be required to help develop SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and other data sharing software workflows and data sharing systems.                                                                                                                                                                  

Person Specification:

Education, Qualifications and Affiliations

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Mechanical / Electrical preferred. Civil / Structural / Chemical, acceptable.
• English spoken, written, reading & listening (medium – high level)                                       

Experience

Essential

• • At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role role with a demonstrated track record of success working within an engineered products and systems business.
• • Engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial type industry (automotive, HVAC, industrial equip).
• • Knowledge of fabrication, APC industry, or other industrial area preferred
• • Strong excel, SharePoint, database, and data sharing software required.
• • Experience working with and negotiating with suppliers required.
• • Mechanical Engineering capability – ability to learn application analysis and design.

Licenses or Certifications

• Driving license
• Passport and visa - Travel to US will be required for role.
